Each year, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley selects an outstanding young person to receive its local Youth of the Year Award, the highest honor bestowed upon a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs. This award recognizes commendable character, academic achievement and outstanding volunteer service to a member’s Club and community.
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley
2018 Youth of the Year Winner - Rochelle

Rochelle has been a Club member since 2008. The ever so quiet girl who walked through our doors 10 years ago, has grown into a remarkable young woman. In her teen years, she volunteered many hours at the Club as a member and was also a summer kitchen staff in 2017. Perseverance is what she stands for and her Club story emulates that to her core. “Most days I didn’t feel safe until I entered the doors of the Club each day. I never felt judged and could always be myself,” Rochelle said when asked about her Club experience. We are very proud to have her represent the Club as our 2018 Youth of the Year.
